The Spiritual Discipline of Silence Sermon Notes

How do Believers Grow in Grace?   Disaster or Discipline

The Gospel is the Good News of the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus Christ by which we become the Righteousness of God.

The Spiritual Disciplines - physically activity that helps open my spiritual heart to receive the love of Jesus Christ.

Is this Law? No.    What is the motivation? Not guilt but love.

Silence - Say Nothing.  “Most noise is human contact.   Silence means to escape from sounds, noises, other than the gentle ones of nature.  But it also means not talking … both dimensions of silence are crucial for the breaking of old habits and the formation of Christ’s character within us.” (The Divine Conspiracy, Dallas Willard, p.357)

How does Silence help me receive more of His Grace?

Silence helps me listen/hear.
