Intro - The Holy Spirit

1.  Believers are Born Again by the Holy Spirit.

John 3:5-6 - 5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Christianity is Supernatural.

The Gospel is the Good News about the Cross and Resurrection of Jesus Christ by which we become the Righteousness of God.

Without the Holy Spirit, the Gospel and the Truth of the Gospel is seen by the World as an absurd/folly or upsetting/scandalous (I Corinthians 1:23).

Historic Example - William Wilberforce and William Pitt the Younger.  (Romans; 8:5-17, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones, p.9)

2.  Believers are Blown by the Wind of the Holy Spirit.

John 3:8 - The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
