Small Group Opportunities

The next part of our mission at Trinity Episcopal Church is to know one another. Although most of these groups are on Summer Break, We have a very active community, and lots of opportunities to interact with each other. You don't have to be a member of the church to attend our Sunday School Classes. Our Bible Studies attract folks from many other churches on the island. We welcome you to share this time of prayer and study with us.

Trinity Episcopal Church Bible Study The No Homework Bible Study meets on Monday mornings in the Parish Library at 9:30. Men and women are invited! Facilitated this season by Sallie Currin and Martha Sparks, this Spirit led and prayer driven group will be studying the book of II Corinthians. God's Word is a treasure to be searched and revealed. It is a privilege to have the opportunity to do this together. Each week stands on its own, so come as you are able. Our small group ministers to the Edisto Island Alzheimer's Ministry by providing lunch, fellowship and encouragement once a month.
Trinity is now offering a Healing Prayer Class for the entire community each Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. We welcome everyone who is interested in understanding God's will for healing in our lives. It matters not what church you attend, only that you come with an open mind for the healing that awaits. The material is from Christian Healing Ministries by Judith and Francis MacNutt of Jacksonville, FL. There is an accompanying book available that has scriptural references to the lessons for $30. Questions? Call Cindy Kapp or Sallie Currin. The Men's Bible Study will begin a new study of the book "The God I Don't Understand; reflections on Tough Questions of Faith" by Christopher J.H. Wright. This will be a short thematic bible study on the general topic of suffering but particularly the question of prescribed violence by God in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Interested? If you have never tried a bible study this may be your opportunity! All men are welcome! We gather on Thursday at 7:45am for a cup of coffee, begin at 8am and then finish with prayer at 8:50am. Come and see! The Rev. Wey Camp, Rector
The Christian Parenting Sunday School Class will be watching the Chip Ingram DVD series Effective Parenting in a Defective World, which is packed with practical advice from experiences and will give you a vision for your children's future in understanding God's principles for child rearing, and life changing help for today. Anyone is welcome to attend, learn, and share some practical parenting skills while studying God's word at 10:00 a.m. The Parenting Class is facilitated by Brad Drawdy. The Issues of the Heart Class is led by Elaine Hampton and Penelope Wright. Adults gather and bring issues of their heart to the Holy Scriptures to listen for a word of grace and truth. This class usually begins with a teaching from Holy Scripture and then leads into questions and lively group discussion and sharing.
